Publication Ethics
Jurnal Fitofarmaka Indonesia (JFFI)
Jurnal Fitofarmaka Indonesia (JFFI) is one of the journals managed by the Pharmacognosy–Phytochemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Muslim Indonesia, which was first published in January 2014. JFFI is a scientific journal published in both online and printed versions, publishing research articles or scientific papers in the field of natural medicine.
This publication ethics statement serves as an ethical guideline for all parties involved in the publishing process of this scientific journal, namely, journal managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication upholds three main ethical values in publication, namely:

Neutrality, meaning freedom from conflicts of interest in publication management.

Equity, meaning granting authorship to those who deserve to be recognized as authors.

Honesty, meaning freedom from duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in publications.
Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher of JFFI (Pharmacognosy–Phytochemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Muslim Indonesia) is responsible for publishing manuscripts after they have undergone editing, review, and layout in accordance with the rules of scientific journal publishing.
The JFFI publisher is also responsible for:

Ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties.

Maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property rights, copyright, and editorial independence.
Editor Responsibilities
The editor of JFFI is responsible for deciding which manuscripts are worthy of publication through editorial board meetings and for referring to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
In the process of reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the JFFI editorial team:

Makes publication decisions objectively without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the authors.

Will not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to any party without the author’s permission.

Will not use unpublished manuscripts for personal purposes and will return them directly to the authors.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers of JFFI assist editors in making editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts.
Reviewers are responsible for:

Providing recommendations on the manuscripts they review.

Conducting the review objectively and supported by clear arguments.

Evaluating aspects such as citations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in the manuscripts.

Maintaining the confidentiality of information and not using information from the reviewed manuscript for personal advantage.
- Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must present their ideas or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism.
Authors are also responsible for:

Ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the data presented in the manuscript.

Providing proper references to the opinions and works of others cited in the manuscript.

Writing the manuscript ethically, honestly, and responsibly in accordance with the applicable writing guidelines.

Accepting editorial revisions during the review and layout process, provided that the substance or main idea of the manuscript is not changed.
