Peer Review Process

Jurnal Fitofarmaka Indonesia (JFFI) publishes manuscripts that strictly follow the JFFI author guidelines and manuscript template. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Each manuscript will first be reviewed by editorial board members according to their field of specialization and will be screened by the Managing Editor to ensure that the manuscript meets the basic criteria of JFFI publication. The manuscript will then be sent to a reviewer based on their experience in reviewing manuscripts or their relevant field of expertise.

JFFI uses a review form to ensure that all manuscripts are evaluated using the same assessment criteria. The editorial board will make the final decision based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several key aspects, including:

  • Originality of the research

  • Clarity of presentation

  • Contribution to the scientific field

JFFI editorial decisions consist of four categories:

  1. Accepted without revision

  2. Accepted with minor revisions (authors are required to revise within the specified time)

  3. Accepted with major revisions (authors are required to revise within the specified time)

  4. Rejected (generally due to being outside the journal’s scope, major technical problems, or lack of clarity in presentation)

To ensure the originality of submissions, the JFFI Editorial Board screens manuscripts for plagiarism using the Turnitin software. If plagiarism is detected above 30% similarity, the manuscript will be immediately rejected.
