Author Guidelines

Jurnal Fitofarmaka Indonesia (JFFI)

Jurnal Fitofarmaka Indonesia (JFFI) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Pharmacognosy–Phytochemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Muslim Indonesia, first published in January 2014. The journal is published three times a year and provides open access to its content to support global knowledge exchange.

JFFI publishes articles in online and printed versions and focuses on natural medicine research, with e-ISSN: 2541-2329 and p-ISSN: 2356-0398.

The journal accepts manuscripts related to natural product research, including:

  • Pharmacological activities

  • Natural product chemistry

  • Formulation studies

  • Comparative studies

  • In silico studies

  • Phytochemical screening

  • Microbiological testing

  • Natural product-based cosmetics

  • Isolation of natural compounds

  • Standardization

  • Determination of compound levels

  • Other natural product research

1. General Author Guidelines

Authors must submit manuscripts through the online submission system by registering as an Author at:

Required supplementary documents:

  • Signed Author Declaration Form (ADF)

  • Cover Letter explaining the novelty and significance of the research

Types of manuscripts accepted:

  1. Original Research Articles

  2. Short Communications

  3. Review Articles (not prioritized)

2. Manuscript Template

Manuscripts must be prepared according to the JFFI article template in Microsoft Word format.

3. Reviewing Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Publication decisions (acceptance, revision, or rejection) are based on reviewers’ recommendations and determined by the Editor. Authors will receive a decision within three months after submission.

4. Manuscript Revision

Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted promptly through the Online Submission System using the Upload Author Version option.

Revisions submitted later than three months will be considered a new submission.

Manuscript Format

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margin: 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left) and 2 cm (right)

  • Spacing: 1.5

  • Layout: Single column

Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words

  • Written in English

  • Must include:

    • Background

    • Objective

    • Method

    • Main findings

    • Conclusion

References

  • Minimum 15 references

  • Use Harvard Style

  • Recommended reference managers:

  • Mendeley

  • EndNote

  • Zotero

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other material provided with this submission.
  • The manuscript submission file should be in Microsoft Word or Open Document file format. Do not submit a PDF format. NOTE: The maximum file size of each file upload is 2 MB
